OUR OUTCOMESOur mission is to enhance the lives of disadvantaged and disabled young people through sport and recreation. Our programmes support some of the most marginalised and at risk young people in the UK. We create a range of opportunities for young people from deprived areas and those with disabilities to engage in sport and recreational activities in their local communities.Increase opportunities for regular participationMotivate young people to engage in sportImprove health, social and psychological wellbeingEmpower volunteers, coaches and teachers to deliver training sessionsGIVING YOUNG PEOPLE A SPORTING CHANCEThere are currently 800,000 disabled children in the UK and 3.7m living in poverty*. For over 65 years, the Lord’s Taverners has existed to provide many of these young people with a ‘sporting chance’ that they may otherwise never have had.We passionately believe every young person should have these opportunities, regardless of ability or background. Over the following pages we highlight many of the investments and programmes we have delivered over the last 12 months and the impact these have had, and will continue to have, on individuals and communities.None of this would be possible without the fantastic ongoing support of our members, volunteers, fundraisers, donors and partners. Please turn to page 27 for details on how you can help us to continue giving young people a sporting chance.*Department for Work & Pensions, June 2013 & June 201512 MONTHS ENDED SEPTEMBER 2015IMPACT REPORT03ABOUT THE LORD’S TAVERNERS
